| The utilisation of renewable energy contributes significantly to the prevention of climate change. The use of biomass, in particular wood, as a renewable energy source is gaining importance especially in supplying commercial users with process steam and electrical energy. Biomass district heating plants generate electric and thermal power, and at the same time utilise the natural resources very efficiently. Industrial wood waste and wood chip-fired plants achieve optimum energy efficiency and minimum flue gas emissions. This excellent combination is guaranteed by using state-of-the-art plant components in the field of boiler systems and flue gas purification. The plant components include: - Industrial wood waste and wood chip-fired plants - Plants for the generation of process steam and electric energy - Boiler systems - Biomass district heating plants - Flue gas purification systems Outstanding project of ILF Beratende Ingenieure ZT GmbH (ILF Consulting Engineers): Hall in Tirol Biomass-Fired Combined Heat and Power Plant Client: Stadtwerke Hall in Tirol GmbH Country: Austria Project-Period: 2003-2005 Short description: Complete design and consulting services as well as construction supervision of the erection of a biomass-fired combined heat and power (CHP) plant (1 MWel, 27 MWth) with combined heat and power, a storage site incl. siding track and storage facility for bark, wood chips and sawdust as part of the district heating system for the city of Hall in Tirol. | |
