Cooperation nano08 - Review
The Cooperation Nano08 took place from 25.-26.Novembre in Leoben, Austria. About 80 people from nine European countries participated in the Partnering Day. During the two days of exchanging knowledge and networking more than 77 organized B2B meetings and many more informal cooperation talks were held. In the B2B meetings were about 40 international institutions involved.
Several interesting speeches on the latest topics on nanoscience and nanotechnologies were held in the morning sessions of the cooperation nano 08.
The opening of the cooperation nano 08 was given by Mag. Kristina Edlinger-Ploder.
She emphasized the important roll of nanoscience and technology for Styria.
The scientific opening talk was given by Prof. Dr. P. Fratzl, who demonstrated
that
engineers can be inspired by nature, but for implementation of natural phenomenon in nano
science and nano technology massive effort has to be undertaken by material scientist and
engineers. In speeches by Prof. Mitterer, Mr. Brenner, Prof Schallhammer and
Dr. Major, new approaches of nano science in surface technology were shown.
The opening speech of the second day of cooperation nano was given by
Mr. Winnewisser from CSEM Basel. This paper concentrated on new
developments in the field of organic OLED´s and OPD- mini-spectrometer single-mode
waveguide chip. The speeches of Prof. Kern and Doz Trimmel concentrated on
new results of molecular polymeric materials for electronic applications or solar cells.
The talk of Mr. Wögerer concentration on the result of the roadmap of the technology

The Cooperation Nano 08 also informs the participants on new funding possibilities.
So gave Dr. Pogany and Dr. Brandenburg an overview on the national and new
European funding opportunities within the 7th framework programm.
The Cooperation Nano08 was supported and funded by the FFG, the Bundesnanointiative,
the Austrian Ministry for Transport, Innovation and Technology, the Material Cluster Styria,
the Province of Styria and the Eco Plus Lower Austria.
The Organisers of the Cooperation Nano08 the Montanuniversity Leoben and Nanonet Styria
will thank all speakers, chair members, all participants and all sponsors of the Cooperation Nano08 for contributing in the Cooperation Nano08.
