During the two days of exchanging knowledge and networking more than 77 organized B2B meetings and many more informal cooperation talks were held. In the B2B meetings were about 40 international institutions involved.

Several interesting speeches on the latest topics on nanoscience and nanotechnologies were held in the morning sessions of the cooperation nano 08.

The opening of the cooperation nano 08 was given by Mag. Kristina Edlinger-Ploder. She emphasized the important roll of nanoscience and technology for Styria. The scientific opening talk was given by Prof. Dr. P. Fratzl, who demonstrated that engineers can be inspired by nature, but for implementation of natural phenomenon in nano science and nano technology massive effort has to be undertaken by material scientist and engineers. In speeches by Prof. Mitterer, Mr. Brenner, Prof Schallhammer and Dr. Major, new approaches of nano science in surface technology were shown.
